This Privacy Policy describes how Yefwe ("We", "Us", "Our", "the Company") collects, uses and discloses your information when you use the Yefwe website and application (the "Service"), and explains your privacy rights.

By using the Service, You agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Definitions

  • Account means a unique account created for You to access the Service.

  • Family means the group of Account holders you share tasks, meal plans, packing lists and notes with inside the Service.

  • Company (referred to as "the Company", "We", "Us" or "Our") refers to Yefwe.

  • Cookies are small files placed on Your device by a website, used to remember information about Your browsing session.

  • Country refers to Kenya.

  • Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.

  • Service refers to the Yefwe website and application, accessible from yefwe.com.

  • Service Provider means any third party that processes data on behalf of the Company, such as our payment gateway provider.

  • Usage Data refers to data collected automatically, generated by use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself.

  • You means the individual accessing or using the Service.

Personal Data

While using Our Service, We may ask You to provide certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to:

  • Email address

  • First name and last name

  • Phone number (when paying for a Pro plan via M-Pesa)

  • Usage Data

Family and Content Data

When you use the Service, We store the tasks, meal plans, packing lists, notes and related content you and your family members create. This content is visible to the members of your family who you choose to share it with, as controlled by the sharing and permission settings within the Service.

Payment Data

When you subscribe to the Pro plan, We collect the phone number you provide to initiate an M-Pesa payment, the plan, billing cycle and amount, and the payment status and reference returned by our payment gateway provider. We do not collect or store your M-Pesa PIN or full mobile money account credentials — these are handled directly between you, your mobile network operator, and M-Pesa.

Usage Data

Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service, and may include your device's IP address, browser type and version, the pages of the Service You visit, the time and date of Your visit, time spent on those pages, and other diagnostic data.

Information from Third-Party Sign-In

The Service allows You to create an account and sign in using Google Sign-In. If You choose to sign in this way, We collect the Personal Data already associated with Your Google account that you authorize Us to access, such as your name and email address.

Tracking Technologies and Cookies

We use Cookies and similar technologies to keep You signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Service is used. You can instruct Your browser to refuse Cookies, but some parts of the Service may not function properly without them.

  • Necessary / Essential Cookies — Session Cookies administered by Us, used to authenticate users and keep the Service secure. Without these, the Service cannot be provided.

  • Functionality Cookies — Persistent Cookies administered by Us, used to remember Your sign-in and preferences so You don't have to re-enter them on every visit.

Use of Your Personal Data

The Company may use Personal Data for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the Service, including monitoring its usage and reliability.

  • To manage Your Account and give You access to the features available to registered users.

  • To process Pro plan payments, including initiating and confirming M-Pesa STK push requests through our payment gateway provider, and maintaining a record of your billing history.

  • To contact You by email or other electronic means regarding updates, security notices, or matters related to your account or subscription.

  • To manage Your requests to Us, including support enquiries.

  • For security and fraud prevention, including detecting and preventing unauthorized access to accounts.

We may share Your personal information in the following situations:

  • With Service Providers: including our payment gateway provider, to process M-Pesa payments on our behalf.
  • With other members of your family: content you create or that is shared with your family (tasks, meal plans, packing lists, notes) is visible to the other members of that family within the Service.
  • For business transfers: We may share or transfer Your personal information in connection with a merger, sale of Company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or part of Our business.
  • With your consent: We may disclose Your personal information for any other purpose with Your consent.

We do not sell Your Personal Data.

Security of Your Personal Data

We take reasonable technical measures to protect Your Personal Data, including encrypting sensitive personal fields and storing certain identifiers (such as email) in hashed form so they cannot be read directly from our database. No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, so while We strive to protect Your Personal Data, We cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Retention of Your Personal Data

We retain Your Personal Data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, including to comply with our legal obligations (for example, retaining payment records as required by tax or financial regulations), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Delete Your Personal Data

You may update or delete certain information about Yourself from within the Service. You may also contact Us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information You have provided to Us, subject to any legal obligation We may have to retain certain records (for example, payment records).

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13, and We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13.
